The night of the premiere was an unmitigated disaster for all concerned in the cast & crew of the film. Edward Lozzi & Associates PR team went to work to change the theme, and genre of the film from Drama to Dark Comedy...and packaged it as spoof on the audience with a wink. Through marketing techniques and recruitment of college film students, LozziPR was able to not only salvage the film, but started it on it's way to 16 straight years of in-theater Midnight screenings worldwide. The Room has replaced Rocky Horror Picture Show midnight shows in most theaters worldwide. The story of the making of The Room was optioned by Seth Rogan and James Franco from the- book 'The Disaster Artist' by Greg Sestero which became the hit film The Disaster Artist( 2018) gaining Franco a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
