George Parr is a playwright, screenwriter and director living in Los Angeles. Originally from Southeast Texas, George studied film at Oberlin College and NYU Tisch. After college, he got a job working in the Emmy Award winning art department on the HBO series "Deadwood," where he met legendary TV writer and creator David Milch. Milch became a mentor to George, who worked as a writing apprentice on Milch's next HBO series "John From Cincinnati."
With his directorial debut, George's short film Betsy was selected by the 2024 Oscar qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival. The film debuted at Pittsburgh International Film Festival where it received runner up in the audience prize.
