Darren W. Conrad (2026 Theatrical Headshot)

Quotes

Darren W. Conrad

  • Sometimes people you put on pedestals will crush the stone on top of you. Start investing in plastic... it's sturdy, shiny, and a lot less painful.
  • I am not about writing stories that temporarily entertain people. I am about writing stories that will touch the human heart and spirit; and will maybe stay with you for a lifetime.
  • I never claimed to be the best at anything; but I sure as Hell am not afraid to go up against it. At this point in my life, I welcome failure; as it shows me how to fix it and make the next round superb.
  • The one thing about me; and most people see that; I don't BS People or play with their emotions. If I say I am going to do something then I do it.. The one thing my career has taught me is Honesty and Integrity are the one thing you have to keep you surviving. If I didn't earn it, I don't want it.
  • The only thing that separates me from here and Hollywood is a Pension in 7 Years.
  • To me, "Acting" is "Not Acting". Once you learn all the little trade secrets and techniques; just as with any profession; all you are doing is dropping your vulnerability. Regardless of what character you are portraying, you are simply drawing from your own inner emotions, experiences, depressions, pains, hurts, sadness, happiness, death, illnesses, laughter, etc. Let it the F..K Go and surround yourself in another dimension. Focus on roles that you honest to God can really relate to based on your own life's experiences. If you are forcing it; it is going to show on screen. You must love the craft more than you do yourself at times. As someone who has cast many actors, I would rather see you blow me away in one small demo reel or clip rather than 5,000 selfies and sexy pictures.
