Biography

Laurie Kinzer(Ramos) began in show business at age 6 starring in commercials, sitcoms, and films along with modeling. She found her passion for entertainment industry infinite. While studying film at UCLA, she paid her own way by writing, directing and producing automotive commercials and training videos while traveling nationwide for an advertising company. At UCLA, Laurie produced her first film, Rancheria, which received awards' from native film festivals. When Laurie found story telling through film; the stars aligned, and her life long work began; dedicating her life to portraying the conflicts of the modern day Native American and indigenous and social issues through media, culminating in the feature film, "California Indian." available to audiences world wide through Vanguard Cinemas' digital distribution. Laurie is collaborating on numerous projects in Film & TV in various wearing various hats.

In addition to co-owning, Against the Wind Films, LLC., Against the Wind Productions which primarily creates documentaries, PSA's, and cultural projects, Laurie wears many other hats. She has an MA MFT (a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy) and a M.A. Ed, Educational Specialist, Laurie is the owner/operator of Laurien Intl. Advertising/Marketing consulting with clients world wide where her face launched the cutting edge multi-million dollar Online Bridal Shows internet site, and the first Online Fashion Show with a futuristic 3D Virtual world audience in 2005. She is a Child Advocate, Counselor, Life Coach, MFTI, and a contracted Resource Specialist. Laurie is always busy managing her son/daughters acting careers' along with her own. Laurie is also a Professional motivational speaker presenting in Psychology, Education, Internet Marketing, Film & documentaries when her schedule allows.
