Tammy Duckworth was born on March 12, 1968 in Bangkok, Thailand. She has been married to Bryan Bowlsbey since 1993. They have two children.

Gave birth to her 2nd child at age 50, a daughter Maile Pearl Bowlsbe, on 9 April 2018. Child's father is her husband, Bryan W. Bowlsbey. First US senator to give birth while in office.
