  • Whitney Lauritsen is a producer, director, and content strategist working in podcasting, digital video, and independent film.

    Raised in Massachusetts, Lauritsen studied film production at Emerson College with a minor in psychology. She began working in the industry during and immediately after college, interning at Boston Casting and serving as a teaching assistant in Boston University's film program before moving to Los Angeles. Her early credits include assistant editor at Ten Worlds Productions, office manager at the commercial production company MJZ, and work in the editorial department on the Discovery Channel series Declassified in 2006. In 2008 she served as a mentor at The American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival.

    From 2007 to 2009 Lauritsen worked as personal assistant to Rob and Michele Reiner. She then joined Green Planet Productions, where she coordinated production and assisted on documentary shoots with directors Josh Tickell and Rebecca Harrell Tickell, and researched and conducted interviews for Harrell Tickell's book Hot, Rich & Green. In 2009 she produced, directed, and appeared in the short film Juncture.

    Lauritsen founded Eco-Vegan Gal in 2008, a video-first media brand covering plant-based food, sustainability, and wellness that she ran for fourteen years. She authored The Vegan Ketogenic Diet Cookbook, wrote for VegNews and Laika Magazine, and appeared as a guest on Huffington Post Live in 2013 and the Fox Business series Stossel in 2014. The work received the Ed Begley Jr. Environmental Activist Award in 2014.

    She began producing podcasts in 2015, starting with Reel Influencers, co-hosted with Cobi Kim. In 2019 she co-founded Wellevatr with Jason Wrobel and launched This Might Get Uncomfortable, which she produces, directs, and co-hosts. She has since created or produced This Hits The Spot, Web3 with Whitney, The Live eCommerce Podcast, and Essentia: Rise & Thrive, and has produced or directed shows across health, business, real estate, sustainability, and technology.

    Lauritsen works as a content and creator operations director, overseeing YouTube, podcast, and membership programs for creator-led media brands. She has spoken at Podcast Movement, VidCon, Creator Economy Expo, and BlogHer. She lives in Los Angeles.
