  • Jason was born in Hollywood, Florida. He is the youngest of five siblings. His father was born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico and his mother was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba. He has starred in several award-winning TV shows, including How I Met Your Mother (2005) and Joss Whedon's Dollhouse as well as award-winning independent films. He played the lead role in the film PTSD, 'Oscar worthy performance,'' stated by Paul Calderon head juror at Chelsea Film Festival. His performance won a Best Actor Award and Best Film at Chelsea Film Festival. The film was in honor of his cousin who passed while still in service and his eldest brother, a veteran who served in the Army, Marines, and the National Guard who experienced PTSD. He began acting in a local theater in South Florida then moved to New York City to continue working on his craft. He found himself on stage working new plays and continued to study Stella Adler, HB, and Lee Strasberg Film and Theatre Institute. He studied with Susan Batson and Jim Antoine at Susan studio. Jason's acting studies include being directed by the legendary Dennis Hopper.Recently in New York City for Water By the Spoonful, a play directed by Tony Award Winner Gregory Mosher. Recent work, the role of "Tom Baril," in Mapplethorpe (2018), the film played at the Tribeca Film Festival. As lead actor of P.T.S.D (2015), Jason Lopez was awarded a Coin of Excellence from Commander Col. Lee Andrew Flemming after a screening of the film at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers in Europe, for his contribution to the cause. Jason also works with the Canine Companions to help veterans suffering PTSD.
