Levan Akin is a Swedish filmmaker of Georgian descent. He most recently wrote and directed Crossing which opened the 2024 Berlinale Panorama section and won the Teddy Jury Award. His previous feature, And Then We Danced, premiered at the 2019 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, and was Sweden’s official entry for the 2019 Academy Awards. Additionally, he served as director and co-executive producer for AMC’s highly regarded adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire (2022-2025). In 2020, Akin became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
