With a background of Native American, Brazilian and Mexican, this musician plays many styles and instruments from violin, guitar as well as percussion and voice. His music is a convergence of Salsa, Yoruba, Brazilian, Jazz, Soul and a host of other styles.

Quetzal's musical exploration began in 1986 when, at the age of four, he began studying the classical violin method of Suzuki and in the following year traveled to Matsumoto, Japan to further his studies at the Suzuki International Institute. His meticulous skills lead him to be the featured violinist for the Conservatorio Pernambucano de Musicas annual recital in Recife, Brazil.

With a strengthened vibration, his musical gift was illuminated and attracted many legendary musicians whom he had the honor to work with, beginning at the age of 10, the Mambo King himself Tito Puente and the Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Lalo Guerrero.

This violin virtuoso has electrified audiences while sharing the stage with the likes of the Barrio Boys, Los Illegales, Fey, Christian Castro, Vicky Carr, Acoustic Alchemy and Jorge Santana.

His musical movement expands far beyond the reaches of sound. He moves his rhythms onto the stage of dance, explores the colors of life through paintings and boldly shares the many facets of his personality through acting. When you ask Quetzal who he is, he simply replies "I'm an artist" and what comes through him is a multi-dimensional masterpiece.

Quetzal, whose name means precious feather in the Aztec-Nahuatl language, expanded his rich Native American/ Brazilian roots to the world of dance and house music when in 2004 he was introduced to Osunlade, CEO of Yoruba Records, at the prestigious Winter Music Conference in Miami. The true essence of Quetzal's innate musicianship lead him to become musical director for the highly acclaimed Osunlade Live 2004 US and European tour. Soon after he was signed to the world renowned Yoruba Records Label.

Quetzal Guerrero exemplifies a brilliance that is both precious and rare. From beginning to beyond, he completely honors his God-given gifts while masterfully standing on the ancestral steps of musical integrity.
