Stu Willis is a writer, director and VFX Supervisor.
He won Best Director (Webseries) at Raindance and has been nominated for Australian Writers Guild and Directors Guild awards. His sci-fi series Restoration -- which he co-wrote and directed -- is the most awarded science-fiction web series of all time. The Black List named his feature Payload (co-written with Matthew Clayfield) among the top-ten unproduced Australian screenplays.
His on-set VFX work has taken him from helicopter stunts over the You Yangs to water tanks in Malta to the jungles of the Philippines. He co-hosts the Draft Zero screenwriting podcast and the Shot Zero YouTube channel, where his breakdowns of shot design, visual effects and fight choreography have accumulated nearly five million views. In his downtime, he is a coach and active competitor in Historical European Martial Arts with 85 world-ranked victories.
