Biography

Holds a Masters of Science degree in Theater Arts from Portland State University.

Is married to special FX make up artist Christina Kortum.

Is a direct descendant of the 17th century author and poet Carl Arnold Kortum.

Is the grand nephew of Frank Engberg, (Army Ret.) Frank Engberg played in several movies such as "An American Gorilla in the Philippines." Alongside Tyrone Powers, and was an extra in John Wayne's "Rooster Cogburn." In the TV series "Combat Report" Ira portrays his own Great Uncle, his character name being PFC Frank Engberg.

Studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. (RADA).
