SYNOPSIS: Adão struggles to make his son Cadinho's dream of seeing the sea come true. Amid financial challenges, the short film celebrates the persistence of childhood dreams and the sacrifices of those who pursue them.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT: In O Sonho de Cadinho, my main goal was to create a deeply moving experience for the audience. More than just telling a story, I wanted to evoke emotions, allowing viewers to connect profoundly with the characters and their dreams. However, this is not just a film about individual emotions. As a filmmaker, I felt a responsibility to use cinema to shed light on a silent crisis, exploring the contrast between the fragility of dreams and the destructive power of dams. In Brazil, more than 1,500 dams are classified as high-risk, threatening the lives of over a million people. Many of these tragedies are preventable, the result of negligence and lack of maintenance. Disasters like Mariana in 2015 and Brumadinho in 2019 show how, in an instant, lives can be irreversibly changed. O Sonho de Cadinho aims to move, unsettle, and spark reflection. I hope each viewer leaves the theater with a lasting feeling and a curiosity that leads them to question the social and environmental responsibility around us.

Martín Escriche is a director who began his career directing rap music videos in Rio de Janeiro. He has collaborated with artists such as Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Filipe Ret, Papatinho, BK, Dennis DJ, Kevinho, ConeCrew Diretoria, and Cacife Clandestino. Since 2013, Martín has also directed advertising campaigns in countries such as Vietnam, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy, Taiwan, Japan, Mexico, among others. His commercial work has been recognized with awards at prestigious festivals, including Cannes Lions, Effie, El Ojo, and CCSP. In 2025, he premieres his short film "O Sonho de Cadinho", which explores a father's struggle to fulfill his son's dream of seeing the ocean while addressing social and environmental issues related to mining in vulnerable communities. His first feature film, "Furry Mob", is a psychological thriller following Adriano, a journalist torn between exposing an organ trafficking network and saving his own life. The film release is also scheduled for 2025. The fiction project "Dendê", co-authored by Martín, won two awards at Conecta Fiction & Entertainment (Core Award + Sanfic Award) and was selected for the official lineup of Rio2C 2023 and Sanfic Industria (Santiago International Film Festival) 2023.
