Biography

David Hamburg is known for Big Wolf on Campus (1999), The Little Lulu Show (1995) and Preventing Genocide (2009). David was previously married to Beatrix Ann McCleary.

Doctor, he is president Emeritus at Carnegie Corporation of New York and past president of of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He and his wife Beatrix were awarded the 2007 Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Award in Mental Health from the Institute of Medicine.

His wife born Beatrix Ann McCleary (Jacksonville, Florida 19 October 1923) was the first black woman student at Vassar College and was a professor of medicine at Stanford and Cornell. They are the parents of Eric Hamburg and Margaret Hamburg.
