- Colin Bates is a British-American actor who is known for portraying Shane McReynolds, the Sgt. at Arms of the Dark Hearts motorcycle gang in Brad Ingelsby's HBO series "Task", led by Mark Ruffalo. He also notably appears alongside Daniel Craig in Luca Guadagnino's "Queer", which he attended Venice Film Festival in support of. Bates started his career playing the title role in Stephen Daldry's "Billy Elliot the Musical" on the West End. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School. His performance on Broadway in the Tony award winning production of "Girl From The North Country" is captured on the PBS Great Performances series. He speaks French and has appeared in numerous foreign films, including the Berlin Film Festival Silver Bear winner, "The Prayer". In "Nice Talking to You", a film which premiered at SXSW, Colin uses Sign Language. He trained with the Royal Ballet in his childhood, as well as several other reputable ballet companies. Colin plays guitar and was member of the band Aelios.
