Biography

  • Akie Namiki was born in 1978 at Saitama prefecture and has been acting since she was a teenager in an independent theater with specialism of moving pictures. After participating in the picture-unit "ultramarine" in her first year she attended many more. She appeared for example at the theater continuing from "Tsutsui World 6" to "Tsutsui World Final".

    She had a leading role in "Aru asa Soup Wa" ("The soup one morning"), which won the grand prix at the Pia Film Festival, 2004, in Tokyo, and in 2006 she featured in "Hanauta Dorobo" ("The Lost Hum"). In 2007, Akie played a young teacher suffering with mental illness in the film "14sai" ("14 Years Old") and received a prize for best supporting actress at the Takasaki Filmfestival.
