Marty Bowen is an acclaimed American film and television producer and the co-founder of Temple Hill Entertainment. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has established himself as a powerhouse industry figure, helping to guide some of the most successful and culturally resonant franchises in modern cinema history.
Bowen famously launched his Hollywood career as a high-profile literary agent and partner at United Talent Agency (UTA), representing top-tier creators like Charlie Kaufman. In 2006, he took a major leap of faith by leaving the agency world to partner with veteran producer Wyck Godfrey to form Temple Hill Entertainment. Under Bowen's leadership, the company achieved stratospheric commercial success, producing the $3.2 billion-grossing The Twilight Saga franchise, The Maze Runner trilogy, and major dramatic hits such as The Fault in Our Stars (2014) and The Hate U Give (2018).
Beyond massive blockbusters and young adult adaptations, Bowen has curated a highly diverse production slate. His recent cinematic triumphs include the massive global box-office horror hits Smile (2022) and Smile 2 (2024), alongside Damien Chazelle's Oscar-winning Neil Armstrong biopic, First Man (2018). Concurrently, Bowen has expanded Temple Hill Entertainment into a major player in television, serving as an executive producer on hit series across multiple networks and streamers, including ABC's Revenge, FX's Dave, and HBO's The Outsider.
