Biography

Louis Fleischauer is an Artist and Costume designer, specialized in working with sculpted leather. His work has been featured in Film, Stage, and various Galleries around the world. Louis Fleischauer was born in Leipzig, Eastern Germany. After the Fall of the Wall he moved to Berlin and started working with leather and experimenting with sounds, Body Art and mutated forms of Aktionism. In 1993 he moved to the US. 1996 started his Project AMF + AMF Korsets, performing and exhibiting his wearable art at events such as Burning Man, various galleries, art festivals, clubs, warehouses and guerrilla performances on various beaches and Blvds. 1998 was the first time Louis used his body as sound-source with the help of hooks. 2007 first time Showing his work in Japan (Vanilla Gallery) 2008 he moved back to Berlin.
