Samuel Gompers was born on 27 January 1850 in London, England, UK. He was married to Gertrude Annersly Gleaves Neuscheler and Sophia Julian. He died on 13 December 1924 in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
In December 1924, he was attending a meeting of the Pan-American Federation of Labor in Mexico City. With his health deteriorating, he expressed his wish to die on American soil. He was taken by special train to Texas and died in San Antonio.
