Joshua Cassar Gaspar is a European film director and producer known for his work across international productions and his contribution to the Maltese film industry. He is the co founder of MaltaFilm and Valletta Pictures, production companies that have played a key role in attracting international projects to Malta. His expertise extends to film finance consulting and leveraging fiscal incentives to support global filmmakers.
Throughout his career, Cassar Gaspar has worked on a range of international productions, including Mutiny (directed by Jean François Richet and starring Jason Statham), F Valentine's Day (directed by Mark Gannt and starring Marisa Tomei), and The Silent Hour (directed by Brad Anderson and starring Joel Kinnaman and Mark Strong).
He began his career directing commercial work, collaborating with international talent including Kimi Räikkönen and Lionel Messi. In 2025, he made his feature directorial debut with The Theft of the Caravaggio, a 35mm shot mystery thriller set in 1980s Malta, which premiered at the Mediterrane Film Festival.
