- Nicholas Crane was born in 1954 in Hastings, East Sussex, England, UK. He is a producer, known for Great British Journeys (2007), Now Get Out of That (1981) and Map Man (2004).

He recounted the trip in his book "Clear Waters Rising", which won the Thomas Cook Travel Book Award in 1997.
