Eamonn Bowles is a prominent independent film executive and distributor, best known as the co-founder and long-time leader of Magnolia Pictures. Born in Belfast, Ireland, Bowles has spent decades championing indie cinema, foreign-language features, and thought-provoking documentaries. His leadership helped shape the modern landscape of independent film distribution in the United States.

Before launching Magnolia Pictures in 2001 alongside Bill Banowsky, Bowles built a formidable reputation working with major indie distributors, including Miramax and Shooting Gallery. He has been instrumental in discovering and distributing critically acclaimed, award-winning films such as the Oscar-nominated documentary I Am Not Your Negro and the Palme d'Or-winning drama Shoplifters.

Known for his forward-thinking approach, Bowles pioneered innovative release models such as launching films on video-on-demand (VOD) ahead of their theatrical runs which revolutionized how smaller, niche movies reach audiences.
