Sister of Joey Ayala.

A heroine of Philippine folk music, the multi-instrumentalist Cynthia began playing guitar at the age of seven with her brother Joey Ayala providing her with early chord lessons.

Revered by young musicians as the doyenne of alternative artists.

A singer/songwriter who also plays various other indigenous Filipino music instruments.

First band is rock group Hayp, for which she won the Best Bass Player Award at the 1989 World Band Explosion Finals in Tokyo.
