Mini bio

  • Shem von Schroeck is an American film composer with over 40 years experience in the music industry in a diverse range of genres. Majoring in composition and double-bass studies at The Manhattan School of Music, his bi-coastal career began in NYC as Composer/Producer for the legendary Sid Woloshin, Inc & Avalon Recording, producing over 400 TV commercials, industrial films, and radio spots for the Clio Award(TM)-winning production firm. Still in his 20s, Shem relocated to Los Angeles and soon found himself touring as a bassist, vocalist, keyboardist, and musical director for such international and GrammyAward(TM)-winning artists as Kenny Loggins, David Foster, Christopher Cross, Michael McDonald, Don Felder (The Eagles), Ambrosia, and most recently TOTO, contributing to multiple international tours, performing in 67 countries worldwide. As a conductor, he has directed several pops concerts with the Columbus Symphony, the Oklahoma Symphony, the Toledo Symphony, the Little Rock Symphony, and the Dallas Symphony.

His composer credits include multiple film scores for EmmyAward(TM)-winning director Robert Ham: Stop The Line, Restoring The Soldiers Home of Los Angeles, and The 1887 Project. His music has been placed in a host of international TV productions, including Shark Week, Bondi Rescue, Killer Cases, Extreme Tow Trucking, Snow Mountain Rescue, and Close Encounters Down Under. Recent projects include the orchestral game soundtrack for PUBG MOBILE - Golden Moon: The Tides, North40 Films' time travel thriller Out Of Time, Forever Pictures' dark comedy Spellbound, and in the works Dean Yurke's sci-fi epic X0DUS. Shem also brings to his compositions and productions his talents as a sound designer, "always searching for newer sound sources in the creation of unique soundscapes and otherworldly textures, all in the name of better storytelling." ~ Shem von Schroeck
