Ning Chang launched her acting career in 2002. In 2006, she caught the audience's attention with her role as a young doctor in the medical drama, The Hospital. In 2007, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 44th Golden Horse Awards and won Best Actress at the 10th Taipei Film Awards for What on Earth Have I Done Wrong?! Furthermore, in 2024, her performance in the film A Place Called Silence earned her the Best Actress awards at both the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival - Golden Crane Award and the 12th New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival. She built her reputation with her steady, subtle acting style and precise interpretation of emotions.
