Kate Gersten was born and raised in Tribeca, New York, USA. She is a writer and producer, known for The Good Place (2016), Up Here (2023) Mozart in the Jungle (2014), among others. She is an alumna of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and Juilliard. She has been married to Matthew Shire since July 2016
