Biography

Kate Havnevik is a film composer, songwriter and singer. Her debut album, the critically acclaimed electronica-infused Melankton, was released in March 2006 and licensed to Universal Republic USA. Havnevik has successfully utilized two Pledge Music crowdfunding-campaigns to fund some of her albums, including You, 2011, and &i 2015. Her music has been prominently featured in TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy, The O.C., and The West Wing. Later years Kate has focused on Film scoring and has worked on music for a numerous short films, documentaries and a couple of feature films. Kate is an active board member of NOPA, Norwegian organization for composers and songwriters, responsible for the organization's film music events. Kate is also a board member of Norwegian artist organization Gramart. Kate did a BA Hons Degree in composition, songwriting, music production at LIPA, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in the UK and later studied Film Composition at HIL in Lillehammer, Norway.
