Zachary Weil
- Producer
- Attorney
I'm a two-time Emmy® Award-winning producer and attorney whose work sits at the intersection of creativity and the law. As a producer, my films have reached audiences worldwide - from PBS documentaries like 'When We Were Apollo' and 'When We Were Shuttle', to the mystery/thriller 'Dead Mail,' which premiered at SXSW and TIFF before going on to stream on Shudder/AMC+. My latest feature, 'Liz Here Now,' stars Oscar® nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and is in post-production.
As an attorney, I bring over 15 years of experience in the entertainment and creative law arenas with an earned speciality supporting independent filmmakers. My background as a creative fuels my mission to empower artists with the legal knowledge and confidence needed to maximize their creative vision while staying secure in the business realities of financing, development, production and distribution. Offering a "soup-to-nuts" approach that scales responsibly and sustainably according to scope and budget, I work closely with directors, producers, musicians and other artists to provide clear, practical counsel on everything from project development and production to fair use, festival strategies and beyond.
