- Nashville session guitarist, and brother of Owen Bradley and recording engineer Charles Bradley (d. 30 July 1995).
- He played on hundreds of hit records, including Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely"; Tammy Wynette's "Stand by Your Man"; "Make The World Go Away" by Eddy Arnold; "Harper Valley P.T.A." by Jeannie C. Riley; and "The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton. He also worked with Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, the Everly Brothers, Patsy Cline, Burl Ives, and Willie Nelson.
- He served in the Navy during WWII. After his discharge, he studied music at George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville.
- He started playing professionally when he was a teenager, touring with Ernest Tubb and making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry.
- Was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
