Mohamed Attia is an Egyptian award winning production designer and art director who has established a prominent name in the industry across Egypt and the Arab region.

A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Attia launched his career in 2004 with director Mohamed Khan’s KLEPHTY, later collaborating with Khan again on DOWNTOWN GIRLS and IN THE HELIOPOLIS FLAT. These early works paved the way for a prolific career alongside Egypt’s most prominent filmmakers. His collaborations include Marwan Hamed on THE BLUE ELEPHANT horror series, THE ORIGINALS, DIAMOND DUST, and EL SETT; Yousry Nasrallah on BAAD EL MAWKEAA, which premiered at Cannes, and EHKY YA SCHEHERAZADE; Tarek Alarian on the WELAD RIZK franchise, THE WALLS OF THE MOON, and THE CELL; and Ahmed Alaa Al Deeb on AL AREF: AWDAT YOUNIS.

Beyond cinema, Attia has built an impressive television repertoire. His credits include all seasons of ABLA FAHITA EL DUPLEX, ABLA FAHITA: DRAMA QUEEN (released on Netflix), Mohamed Yassin’s AFRAH AL QOBA (set in a 1970s inspired world), the crime drama EL TAMANYA on Shahid, the 2023 Ramadan hit TAHT EL WESAYA starring Mona Zaki, and the 2024 Ramadan series EKHWATY directed by Mohamed Shaker Khodeir and starring Nelly Karim, Kinda Alloush, and Ruby. He also ventured into theater with the musical COCO CHANEL, marking Sharihan’s celebrated comeback.

In parallel to his groundbreaking work in film and television, Attia has been the creative force behind some of Egypt’s most historic public spectacles. In addition to the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade, he led the production design and art direction of the parade celebrating the restoration of Luxor’s Al Kebash Road and the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, widely regarded as a landmark cultural milestone. His portfolio also includes the World Youth Forum, four consecutive editions of the Cairo International Film Festival, and the third edition of the El Gouna Film Festival.

Attia’s artistry extends to advertising, where he has crafted iconic campaigns for leading brands such as Pepsi, Coca Cola, Vodafone, Etisalat, Orange, Telecom Egypt (WE), and e& Egypt. In the music industry, he has collaborated on video clips with Arab superstars including Amr Diab, Assala Nasri, Angham, and Samira Said.

Throughout his illustrious career, Attia's astounding talent has won him several awards, including six Best Set Design Awards from the Annual Film Society Festival for Egyptian Cinema for his films EL SETT, BAAD EL MAWKEAA, THE WALLS OF THE MOON, SONS OF RIZK, EHKY YA SCHEHERAZADE, and THE BLUE ELEPHANT, for which he also won Best Art Design from the Egyptian National Film Festival.

He also won the Best Art Director Award from the Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema for his film THE ORIGINALS, as well as other awards within the Production Design Category of the Cairo Design Awards, where he later served as a jury member in 2021, including the Golden Award for DIAMOND DUST and BLUE ELEPHANT: DARK WHISPERS and the Silver Award for SONS OF RIZK 2 and AFRAH AL QOBA.
