Catarina Guimarães was born on February 19, 1982 in Lisbon, Portugal. She is an actress, known for Baía das Mulheres (2004), Alogicamente (2012) and Nuit de chien (2008).

Was born in Portugal but grew up in Mozambique and Macau, China.

Attended the Portuguese acting school Act - escola de actores with fellow classmates Juana Pereira da Silva, André Nunes, Kjersti Kaasa, Ramón Martinez, Nuno Pardal, Patricia Adão Marques, Patricia André, Ana Lázaro, Anabela Moreira, Ruben Garcia, etc... (2001).

Attended the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York for the intensive summer workshop. (2005).

Her great grandfather Bernardino Machado was elected President of Portugal twice (1914 and 1921).

Her great grandfather Bernardino Machado (born Bernardino Luís Machado Guimarães) was elected twice as President of Portugal (1915/17 and 1925/26) and was also elected twice as Portugal's Prime Minister (1914 and 1921).
