Guitarist Michael Rand Allsup was born on March 8, 1947 in Modesto,
California. His parents were originally from Oklahoma, but moved to the
small town of Empire, California. Allsup became interested in the
guitar as a teenager and started playing in a dance band with some
friends in high school. Mike played in numerous local bands prior to
relocating to Los Angeles, California in 1968. He joined the hugely
popular and successful 70s rock group
Three Dog Night later that same year.
Allsup released the solo album "Some Women" in 2000. Mike lives in
Modesto, California and continues to play guitar for
Three Dog Night.
