Biography

Emma Selinski is an award-winning independent genre filmmaker from Adelaide, Australia, with over 20 years of experience as a Producer, Writer, and Director across radio, theatre, television, and film. She is known for her passion for speculative fiction, often blending science fiction with a magical twist in her storytelling.

Emma began her career in London, working as an actor, writer, and Assistant Director at the Royal Court Theatre and the BBC. She earned nominations for the Sony and Prix d'Europe Awards for 'Something to Declare', a collaborative radio play she co-wrote and performed in for BBC Radio 4.

After moving to Chicago, she auditioned for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and was accepted into the prestigious School at Steppenwolf, training alongside renowned actors, writers, and directors. Inspired by her experience, she returned to Australia and founded Bread Crumbs Theatre Company in Sydney, where she produced, directed, and performed in two highly successful productions: 'Mud in Your Eye: The Dorothy Parker Story' and 'Crumbs on the Radio'.

In 2011, Emma founded Sunflower Sings Films. Her first two films 'Sunflower Sings' (2016) and 'Virtually Happy' (2020) were officially selected and won multiple awards at over 25 international film festivals, with 'Virtually Happy' notably winning Best Sci-Fi Film at the 2021 Montreal Independent Film Festival.

As the Senior Virtual Production Coordinator at Eyeline Studios- Powered by Netflix, Emma contributed to high-profile projects such as 'Wednesday: Season 2', 'Senna', '3 Body Problem', 'Rebel Moon: The Scargiver', 'Avatar - The Last Airbender', 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom', 'Yu Yu Hakusho', 'One Piece', 'The Flash', 'Black Adam', 'The Gray Man, 'The Batman', and various award-winning commercials.
