Son of Frederik X and Dronning Mary.

He was baptized on Saturday 21st of January 2006 in Christiansborg Slotskirke in Copenhagen, the same church where his great-great-grandfather King Christian X was baptized.

Is first in line to the Danish Throne, just after his father, King Frederik X.

Christian's eight godparents are Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway and husband Crown Prince Haakon, Prince Pavlos of Greece, Prince Joachim, the brother of Mary's husband Crown Prince Frederik, Mary's sister, Jane Stephens, her friend Hamish Campbell and Frederik's navy friend, Jeppe Handwerk.

Was given the name; Christian Valdemar Henri John. Christian - due to tradition in Denmark (Kings are most often named Frederik or Christian in Denmark) Valdemar is the name of a late ancestor, Henri is the name of the little prince's paternal grandfather and John is the first name of Christian's maternal grandfather.

When he becomes the King of Denmark, he's going to be known as King Christian the 11th.

Has three younger siblings: Isabella (b. 21 April 2007), Vincent (b. 8 January 2011) and Josephine(b. 8 January 2011).

Cousin of H.E. Greve Nikolai (b. 28 August 1999), H.E. Greve Felix (b. 22 July 2002), H.E. Greve Henrik (b. 4 May 2009) and H.E. Komtesse Athena (b. 24 January 2012).
