- Paddy Hill was among a group of men from Northern Ireland jailed for the atrocity who became known as the Birmingham Six. He was was wrongly convicted of IRA attacks on pubs in Birmingham in 1974.
- Mr Hill founded the Glasgow-based MOJO (Miscarriage of Justice Organisation) after his release in 1991, helping others who were imprisoned despite being innocent of the crimes they were accused of.
