Mini bio

  • Rick Miller (he/him) is a Dora and Gemini award-winning writer / director / actor / musician / educator who has performed in six languages on five continents, and who Entertainment Weekly called "one of the 100 most creative people alive today".

Though he is primarily known as one of Canada's most renowned and virtuosic stage performers, Miller has also played an amazing array of onscreen roles. He's hosted primetime series such as Just for Laughs (ABC) and Canadian Made (History TV), and has played guest leads in Batwoman, Murdoch Mysteries and Saving Hope on TV, and Possible Worlds on film. He also wrote and starred in a TV pilot called Hardsell, adapted from his own stage play. Many roles have featured singing, notably Mulroney: the Opera, where he starred as Canadian PM Brian Mulroney, under a prosthetic chin. He also played Stumpy Sam in the horror/musical The Legend of Beaver Dam, which led to him singing the role of Metal Killer in the feature film Stage Fright, with Meat Loaf and Minnie Driver.
