Gabe Fazio was born and grew up on Long Island, New York. Gabe contracted bacterial meningitis at four years old, resulting in partial deafness in right ear and is mostly deaf in left ear. Gabe wears a hearing aid in his right ear, while left ear is unaided due to the severity of loss.

In 1996 Gabe Fazio became the recipient of the prestigious Irene Ryan Award for Best Actor at The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, representing Suffolk Community College.
