  • Born a hundred miles West of Kansas City to East Indian parents, Kartik Singh performed in many plays while in high school and college. In 1996, he moved to France to study French film (Le Ballon rouge d'Albert Lamorisse) and acting. He received a post graduate diploma from the Sorbonne in Paris for his first film, Les Enfants du Pere Lachaise (Children of Pere Lachaise).

His next film, Bonne nouvelle, Mauvaise nouvelle (Good News, Bad News) was made from archive footage, and took the First Prize in the European televison network ARTE's Rush Competition. This past January, his film l'épave (The Wreck) won the Grand Prize at the Paris Festival Courts Metrages et Grands Talents. His most recent work, Chutes d'organes (Falling Organs), was sold to Universal and will be shown on French Television in the fall.

Kartik is also an actor, represented in Paris by Victoria Marchal. He can be seen acting in English (War Machine by Lee Sullivan), French (Jeux de mains by Jeanne Aslan), or even Hindi (Bhai Bhai by Olivier Klein).

His next film, Saving Mom and Dad, scripted this past summer, is a poignant family drama based on his culturally mixed childhood in Kansas City.
