  • An independent film director, producer and editor. Her films were screened internationally in festivals in over 60 countries and were screened in art events and venues, including Kunsthalle Wien, Berlin State Museums, Taipei Biennial, among others. Her films were also broadcast globally, with network such as Arte, NHK, TSR, NRK, TV2, Al Arabiyah, a.o.

    As a producer, she worked with young directors realizing a number of internationally acclaimed independent documentary films in Syria and beyond.

    As an independent film director, producer and activist, her career in film started in 2002 after co-founding an independent film production outfit in Damascus "Proaction Film". In addition to being a director and producer, she managed the company for 12 years, and co-founded "Dox Box international documentary film festival" in Syria independently in 2008 where she headed the training and industry events. The festival ran till the uprising in 2011. After leaving Syria, Diana moved to Berlin and co-founded both a production company "Proaction Film" later re-branded as "No Nation Films GmbH" where she continues to produce films, and the independent non-profit documentary support organization "Dox Box" which she managed since establishment.

    Her overall work and activism earned her international recognition including the European Documentary Network Award and the Catherine Kartlidge Award. She has been seated repeatedly as a juror and panelist at film festivals and funds, among which most distinctively as a juror at the Cannes Film Festival's first documentary film competition for "L'OEil d'or" or "The Golden Eye" Award in 2015, IDFA Dutch Competition in 2015 and at the Grand Jury at One World Film Festival 2016.

    Diana holds a BA of Arts & Humanities, English Literature, from the Damascus University, and later has received professional training in international film producing and distribution at the INA/Sorbonne in France.
