Marco Martínez(VI)

Marco Martínez made television history as the first Afro-Latino actor to portray an Afro-Latino character on U.S. television in the bilingual PBS series Villa Alegre. Born to Cuban parents, he took an unconventional path to Hollywood, beginning with U.S. Army service in Germany, where he discovered theater with the Roadside Theater in Heidelberg. This led to a scholarship at London's Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance.

As an actor, Marco has appeared on FX's Snowfall, Netflix's Gentefied, NCIS: Los Angeles, Castle, Bosch, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., among others. His versatility earned him a Talent Holding Deal with 20th Century Fox Studios. Behind the camera, Marco assisted Academy Award-winning director Barry Jenkins in developing Moonlight and served as Associate Producer on The Take. Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker personally hired him as dialect coach for Catch .44.

As a writer represented by Emery Entertainment, Marco penned the 2023 Netflix event TUDUM hosted by Jamie Foxx and developed promotional content for Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He has projects in development at Universal Television and Hazy Mills Productions.

Marco studied screenwriting with Robert McKee at UCLA and earned his Master's in Public Policy and Administration from USC. He continues expanding Latino representation in entertainment through his work as an actor, writer, producer, and acting coach.
