Biography

Yvette M. Amirian, ACE is an Eddie Award-winning film and television editor, and the first Armenian-American woman invited to join the prestigious American Cinema Editors (ACE). After graduating from USC’s School of Cinema-Television, Yvette built a successful editing career, and has also served as a producer on multiple projects, overseeing all aspects of post-production. In 2011, Yvette and her editorial team received an ACE Eddie nomination for their work on WHALE WARS (Best Edited Reality Series). In 2017, she was an editor and post-production producer on John Singleton's L.A. BURNING: THE RIOTS 25 YEARS LATER, which was nominated for an Emmy (Outstanding Documentary Special). Yvette’s scripted projects include a feature for critically acclaimed filmmaker Robert Machoian, THE INTEGRITY OF JOSEPH CHAMBERS, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022 (U.S. Narrative Competition), and released theatrically in 2023. She also cut Ophelia Harutyunyan’s IT TAKES A VILLAGE..., which was awarded "Best International Film" at the 2023 L.A. Shorts Film Festival, qualifying it for the 2024 Academy Awards. Yvette’s latest editing work includes the original comedy feature for Amazon/MGM Studios, EX-MAS, directed by Jonah Feingold, as well as A WINTER'S SONG, which she also produced and sound designed. The latter, which earned her a second ACE Eddie Award nomination and win (Best Edited Feature Film, Non-Theatrical), was acquired by The Wonder Project. Both films are streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Yvette is currently a Creative Executive at Wormhole Pictures, a company she co-founded with colleagues committed to telling stories that offer glimpses into unseen worlds (and a twist on their own). They are in pre-production for a feature film set to start production in 2026. In addition to being a proud member of ACE and serving on its Education Committee, Yvette is also a member of the Academy of TV Arts & Sciences and Motion Picture Editors Guild. She has provided mentorship to students and recent graduates through the All-ASA (Armenian Students Association) Internship Program. Yvette has also taught Motion Picture Editing as an adjunct faculty member at USC's School of Cinematic Arts for over a decade, and loves educating future generations of aspiring filmmakers.
