Paula Moreno(I)

Paula Moreno is a producer who markets films including her own. Her successes include the 2010 feature film IJE, The Journey, which has broken records in the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, considered the world's most productive English language film industry in the world. IJE, The Journey became the No 1-grossing film of all time for that industry. When IJE was released, it out-grossed both Shrek Forever After and Inception in the Nollywood Film Industry's West African Market. The co-star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was featured in Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013. Time film critic Richard Corliss called the film a "super production," and the project has made Moreno the first Hispanic producer from the United States to establish credentials in Nollywood.

After IJE, Paula became very recognizable in the International Market. She released films for Dos Corazones Films and NewLand Films across the United States, Latin America, and Europe. Films such as The Greatest Miracle and Cristiada /For Greater Glory, the English title, became instant hits and in many countries were number one in attendees or screen average.

In addition, she launched the first-ever multi-city French Film Festival USA in partnership with Unifrance, featuring Jappeloup, It Boy, Little Lion, A Monkey on my Shoulder, Tour de Force, and Under the Rainbow.

In 2014 the Cesar Chavez film was released by Pantelion Films, and as an integral part of the film's team, Paula's strong presence within the faith-based community, particularly in the Hispanic faith-based market, helped create its popular reception. The faith-based film world often turns to Paula for her ability to successfully market to this community. She has managed faith-based grass roots marketing for American Entertainment Marketing (AEM), and has used this ability to market many other well-known films.

Paula has partnered with theaters to simultaneously market their features through traditional marketing, billboards, grass roots and advertising media to create their success with their films. Paula has earned a place in the forefront of new producers within international cinema. She worked closely in distribution with Mike Doban, a record-breaker in independent films, including The Illusionist.

Paula produced, wrote and directed her first film in 2004, a short titled Planet Far Away, for which she won awards for best director and writer at a Tokyo film festival. She followed that success with more award-winning films including the short Lost Lives, and the feature length Maquillaje.

She has long held a passion for social justice. Her work as a public relations manager for well-known criminal defense attorney, Seymour I. Amster enabled her to develop insight into the issues affecting social justice in our present society. This insight, with her passion, as well as her knowledge of directing and producing inspirational films, has resulted in the creation of a partnership with Amster for the purpose of creating documentaries on contemporary social justice issues.

Her partnership with Amster has all of the attributes of being a success, for Moreno knows how to create documentaries that will capture the voice of those who no longer have one, but are in need of having their story told. Moreno will utilize the knowledge and experience she has acquired by working alongside such notable individuals like Micki Dickoff , an Emmy Award-winning and Humanitas Award-nominated writer and director.

In addition to her film experience, Paula has produced and written numerous commercials for radio, as well as television commercials. She is currently working together with Vision4Media as a Lead Producer with the Conscious Filmmaker®.
