Peter Gethin was born on February 21, 1940 in Ewell, Surrey, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Jo Siffert: Live Fast - Die Young (2005) and Formula 1 (1950). He was married to Robbie. He died on December 5, 2011 in Arundel, West Sussex, England, United Kingdom.

Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: McLaren (1970 (7 GPs)-1971 (7 GPs)), BRM (1971 (4 GPs)-1972 (10 GPs)-1973 (1 GP)) and Hill (1974 (1 GP)). He started 30 Grands Prix, 1 Win, 1 Podium and 11 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 9th in 1971.

Later he raced F5000 and CanAm sports cars in the US before returning to live in England, where he briefly had a stint as manager of the Toleman team in 1984 during the freshman season of Ayrton Senna in Formula One.

Winner: 8th Race of Champions - Brands Hatch - F1 (1973), World Championship Victory Race - Brands Hatch - F1 & F5000 (1971), 2° Holts Trophy - Crystal Palace - Formula 3 (1966).

Champion: Tasman Series (1974), Formula 5000 Great Britain (1969, 1970).
