Dimitris Xanthopoulos

Dimitris Xanthopoulos is a Greek actor and theater director. He graduated from the Drama School of the Theatrical Organization Morfes at the Embros Theatre in 2000, after which he began working as an actor in stage productions and short and feature films. He served as assistant director on the theatrical production of 'To tavli' by Dimitris Kehaidis, directed by Tassos Bandis at the Embros Theatre. In 2007, he wrote the screenplay and directed the short film Pulvis Tarakanae. Xanthopoulos is a co-founder of the theater group Pequod, through which he has directed several notable productions. His staging of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull earned him a nomination for Best Debut Director at the 2010 Karolos Koun Theatre Awards. He also directed 'Apo to fifty-fifty ston erota' by Dimitris Hatzis as part of the 1st Low Budget Festival in 2010, and 'Ypothesi ergasias' at the Athens Festival in 2011. In 2012, he co-directed and performed in 'To diplo vivlio', a co-production between Pequod and the Onassis Stegi.
