Biography

Originally hailing from Metro Detroit, Shawn graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in pre-veterinary medicine. Soon after being accepted to veterinary school in the Caribbean he was bitten by the elusive, and ever so persuasive, 'film bug'. In early 2004, he packed up and headed to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking and has been working in the industry as a Director of Photography ever since.

Narrative, documentary, television and commercial work has taken this visual troubadour around the world. He's collaborated with the likes of Greta Gerwig, Martin Sheen, Snuffy Walden, Iggy Pop, Alan Rickman, Danny Glover, Joe Mantegna, Bobby Cannavale and Fred Savage, among many others. Along the way, Shawn's award-winning projects have screened worldwide, with one of his most recent - a feature-length documentary, 'Up to Snuff' - grabbing considerable attention throughout the film festival circuit.
