Biography

Marie Sabbah is the founder of the composer's agency Marie Sabbah Agency, whose name since 2022 became My Soundtrack Agency. With extended experience of 35 years+ in music and cinema, she was elected Board member of "French Oscar" Academie des César in 2020. Marie also founded the music consulting and tracking company Majlen Music which is now dedicated as much to film producers screenwriters or directors, as well as to music publishers and composers. Marie Sabbah attended classical music studies at the Dijon Regional Academy of Music (Piano, musical theory, harmony) as well as a jazz training at the CIM - International Academy of Music in Paris (arrangements and orchestrations for Big Bang). She also graduated a Master's Degree in musicology at University of Paris VIII. After teaching music, Marie became a musical copyist in all styles, before specializing in film scores. The quality of her "by ear" copying led her to collaborate with such prestigious and demanding composers as Gabriel Yared, Philippe Sarde, Georges Delerue and Ennio Morricone. In 1993, Marie Sabbah founded her first company Diesis Music and worked with the drum composer Steve Shehan producing his several project (world music, film music, contemporary music, concerts, ballet music). She soon promoted the American jazz musicians Marc Copland, Bruce Dunlap and Peter Herbert. At the same time, she wrote arrangements and orchestrations performed by the lyric singer Wilheilminia Fernandez with the Ile-de-France National Orchestra. Since 1996 she worked as film composer's agent first with Pierre Adenot (Paris I love you), Cyrille Aufort (Splice), Christophe La Pinta (La Chance de ma vie) and with many others composers. She developed with them the music supervision, adding synchronization clearance rights and copyright control to her activities. Feature films and TV movies, TV series and ballet music, original soundtrack for films, small and large projects were being carried out in Marie Sabbah Agency (Nathaniel Méchaly, Guillaume Roussel, Laurent Eyquem, Erwann Kermorvant, etc...), her very own film composer agency that also offered music supervision as well as executive music production, copyright control and tracking music publishing catalogs for film producers all over the world.
