Biography

Jeff Parker was born in Burbank and raised in Sherman Oaks, California. He is the son of Michael C. Parker and Deborah Greaney Parker (deceased). He attended St. Francis De Sales Catholic School and Notre Dame High School, both in Sherman Oaks. He holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Southern California. Since 1990, he has been a Chicago-based actor where he lives with wife of 29 years, Lynn Baber, a long time Chicago theatre professional. They have two daughters, Grace and Constance. From 1988-2015, Jeff taught acting and directed for the Cherub program at Northwestern University. He continues to teach and coach in the Chicago area. A third-generation, Los Angeles native, Jeff is also the great-grandson of Peter Mole, founder, in 1927, of the Mole-Richardson Company, a pioneering motion picture lighting manufacturer.

Grandfather Edward Michael Greaney, Jr. M.D. was prominent surgeon at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank. Patients included Bob Hope, Jonathan Winters, and Hollywood Honorary Mayor, Johnny Grant.

Great-Grandfather was Peter Mole, founder of Mole-Richardson Co., a pioneering motion picture lighting manufacturer. The company received 4 technical a Academy Awards.

In early childhood, next door neighbor was Barbara Eden of TV's I Dream of Jeannie.

Pre-Pandemic (March 2020) was playing the Duke of Windsor in a national tour of The King's Speech by David Seidler, directed by Michael Wilson. The production was about to play Hartford Stage in Hartford, Connecticut.

In Spring 2023, Jeff made his Lyric Opera of Chicago debut in Proximity, a trio of interwoven, contemporary operas directed by Yuval Sharon. He portrayed former Obama Education Secretary, Arne Duncan in The Walkers with music by Daniel Bernard Roumain and libretto by Anna Deavere Smith.
