Biography

Based in Prague, Leigh Phillips is a versatile composer, orchestrator, arranger and producer creating original music and unique orchestrations for TV, film, concert performances, and CD recordings.

With over twenty years of experience, Leigh has collaborated with a diverse range of composers, ensembles, and international film-music festivals. His clients include respected names such as John Ottman, Joe Harnell, Laurence Rosenthal, Vince DiCola, Brad Fiedel, Hesham Nasih, Fimucite Film Music Festival, Film Music Prague Festival, the World Soundtrack Awards, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano. His portfolio extends to major film studios and broadcasters such as SKY, ITV, Channel 4, Amazon Studios, Paramount Pictures, the BBC, and Marvel Studios.

Leigh has a particular passion for classic film-music and has been involved in reconstructing and recording complete scores by legendary composers including Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry, Miklos Rozsa, Basil Poledouris, and Maurice Jarre for specialist labels Tadlow Music, Intrada Records, and Quartet Records.

In 2006, Leigh was presented with a Jerry Goldsmith Award for his original score from a theatrical production of "The Jungle Book" and, in 2014, was recipient of the IFMCA Special Award for the reconstruction of Jerry Goldsmith's score from "The Salamander" (previous recipients of the latter award have included Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman, James Horner, and The Symphony of Hope Project).

When not orchestrating or composing, Leigh can usually be found at Smecky Music Studios, producing recording sessions for film, TV, video game, and album projects.
