Biography

Don Mann is a Vancouver based freelance sound designer, music editor, and musician. With over 20 years working in audio post, Don has become a sought after talent, working regularly with most major sound studios in the city. Don started his career shortly after graduating from the Recording Arts Masters Program at the Centre For Digital Imaging and Sound in 1998. His first job was as assistant to film composer Hal Foxton Beckett. After 2 years working with Hal as music editor and engineer, he moved to Post Modern Sound, where he learned the ins and outs of all things film sound. Starting with conforming DAT tapes, setting up dub stages, and general studio assistant duties, Don began to specialize in creating and mixing sound effects, and editing music for the many projects coming through the studio. Once technology made it feasible for editors to work from home, he made the transition to become a fully independent freelancer. Now Don works out of his studio on the Sunshine Coast, and enjoys collaborating with some of the best sound and film talent in the world.
