- Jennifer Griffin was born in 1969 to the family of John W. Griffin, a partner in a Washington law firm, and Carolyn J. Griffin, the producting director of Metrostage, a theater in Alexandria, Virginia.
In 1992 Jennifer graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in comparative politics and shorty after that started her journalist career.
In October 1994 Jennifer married to her longtime boyfriend, journalist Greg Myre. Now, that are parents to 3 children - daughters Annalise Myre and Amelia Myre, and a son Luke Myre (b. in September 2009).
Jennifer found a "lump", when she nursing her new born son Luke in September 2009 and shortly after was diagnosed with 3 Stage of Breast Cancer. The aggressive nature of this condition had forced her to leave the airwaves to pursue treatment. Now being cancer free, Jennifer returned to the airways on August 25, 2010 reporting from Kabul, Afghanistan.
