Donnie Walsh was born on March 1, 1941 in Manhattan, New York, USA.

Selected by the Philadelphia (now Golden State) Warriors out of the University of North Carolina, but never played in the NBA.

Hired Larry Brown and Larry Bird while president of the Indiana Pacers. Walsh was Brown's assistant coach at Denver.

(April 2) Named president of basketball operations for the New York Knicks.
